Many people apply without Step 2 Clinical Skills and Step 3 for residency. So you may not be an alien if you do so, but both are very very useful for application and u have to complete all the other USMLEs(except Step 3) before February...but u can apply to very few programs with only step 1 score...and thus less interview calls! So its always recommended to get all your USMLE scores out of the way!

i have graduated this year and planning to applying for match in 2013 . i want to know whether the increase in intake in US med schools affect the chances for FMG s for 2013 match or is it gonna come to picture later . am worried about my decision on USMLE.

iam about to finish internship in a month, and though i am late, i have decided to pursue USMLE
i was uninformed about a lotta things until i started reading your blog a few days back,.
well the thig is i have started usmle step1 prep a few days back, wasn givin toomuch imp to USCE till ua website came along. now dilemma and confusion has got the better of me, so wanted to put forth a few queries.
1. have thought of takin an extension and apply for electives in US, i would wanna be done with them by sept and also give my CS in oct, summer months are full it is said , so feelin a lil low about that, was wonderin how early should i be applyin for CS exam...could you throw some light on that?
2.i have seen many ppl on the bench for quiet some time....was wonderin what the stats have to say about how many ppl are able to get in the first time?? have you ne idea.............
i can work well and work hard,, but this uncertainity kills me man.
but yeah...thanks a lot for this wonderful resource.

2. CS? well it depends upon how much u practice CS cases! Practice, practice and practice, at least 3 times!

i never heard of anyone applyin into universities with d step one scores..is it true?? suppose if i apply with a elective and a good score in step 1.what all colleges can i push in?
